Sow indoors or (warm) greenhouse.

■ The foliage is variegated with red/pink, green, yellow and many intermediate shades.
■ The blade has serrated edges.
■ Do not cover the seed, lightly press and keep moist.
■ After emergence, prick out and pot.
■ If growing too fast, cut out buds to promote better branching.
■ Water regularly.
■ Like a bright spot, not in full sun.
