■ A deliciously tender yellow cabbage. Because of its very mild flavour, this old variety is sometimes called "slobber cabbage".
■ Golden yellow in colour, slightly crinkled and slightly pointed in shape.
■ A delicacy, but don't cook them for too long (as they used to): a waste of flavour.
■ Sow in a greenhouse or in the garden in seedbeds and transplant later. Keep soil moist.
■ Plant out in well-tilled/fertilised soil.
■ Protect young plants against cabbage flies using anti-insect netting.
